Giving up? – UPDATED

Here’s a guy I met through an online dating site about 6 years ago. We talked on the phone once. After about 6 months, he started contacting me regularly every 6-12 months via phone call and text. I rarely (if ever) responded. I remember early on saying “Thank you, I’m flattered but not interested.” He badgered me with a desperate “Oh come on, it’s just coffee!” and “Maybe this is our year!” comments, but I just stopped responding because as I said, I am not interested.

Then, he started to pursue me everywhere. EVERYWHERE! I received yahoo chat requests, LinkedIn connect requests, Facebook friend requests, text messages, phone calls and voice messages. I have no idea where else he searched and how else he is stalking me but there’s one thing for sure: he never stops! Clearly, “I am not interested” isn’t something he understands.

Several months ago, he called me. We talked for about 15 minutes and I was thoroughly annoyed that I even answered the phone. He’s miles from charming and has even less phone etiquette, let alone a memory of ever even having spoken to me before. He tried to be charming by calling me darling and sweetie as he promised to call me again. I silently prayed he never would.

About 5 weeks ago, I started to receive texts. They haven’t stopped & I only responded the 2 times with an obviously sharp tone. I haven’t responded since. This guy either has a very short memory or doesn’t know how to take a hint.

You’ll notice that I get a text from him every few days.

UPDATE  1/15/13:  Someone has to put a stop to the madness.
